LOCATIONThe house is situated on the stylish development known as Bakers Mill which is located a short distance from Sudbury town centre. Sudbury is a traditional East Anglian market town in the Stour Valley that despite its evolution has managed to retain much of its traditional charm and historical buildings. Birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, the town centre displays a statue in his memory and his former home, Gainsborough House, has been turned into a museum dedicated to his life's work. The town centre boasts a good selection of shops, from specialist boutiques to national chains, and also offers the Kingfisher Leisure centre with its tropical swimming pool and Belle Vue Park with lawns and tennis courts to enjoy. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to dine in and even a local theatre - The Quay - that offers a year round programme of entertainment. The outdoor elements are the biggest attraction - from canoeing on the river, biking through the many beautiful medieval villages or simply walking through some of the most breath taking countryside - it is hard to believe that this incredible pace of life has been so carefully preserved just 76 minutes away from London. It is the perfect country retreat where you could also explore London. Cities nearby are - Cambridge, Colchester, Ipswich. Coasts nearby are Clacton-on-Sea, Felixstowe Lowestoft. |
